Crazy Fog, Luke Is Back, and More Skiing

Dear Friends,

This week was crazy with the fog. There were times when I literally couldn't see further than 10 meters in front of me on the road. It delayed our first mortar shoot too, but we ended up being able to fire the rounds when the fog broke a little in the afternoon on Wednesday. This week my roommate Luke also got back from an 11-day trip across the country flying some helicopters here from Fort Bragg, NC. It is good to have him back. Other than that life is continuing to only get busier. I'm going skiing again this weekend with some friends. I can't believe how lucky I am. I have 5 ski resorts within 2 hours of my front door. I'd appreciate prayer for our Bible Study as we continue to recruit new guys to come out, get into the Word ourselves, and encourage each other. I really am lucky to have Tim, Isaac, and Luke to live with. Anyway, I'll update again soon. Also, the pictures are from our retreat this last weekend and a Delorian (Back to the Future) Sports Car I saw in Seattle.

4-Day Break...Portland and Skiing

Dear Friends,

These past 2 weeks have started off busy at work, but we are rolling right along. We'll be doing our first live fire range this next week. Everyone is pretty excited about it. So yeah, we immediately got a nice 4-day weekend after only being back 2 weeks. I spent the majority of my time down in Portland with the rest of the guys from my Bible Study. It was a really great time to focus on Jesus (not that this isn't the end goal of everyday), see Portland, and spend time with everyone. Portland probably has the most character of any city I've ever been too...anti-war protests, robot-impersonators, and the country's largest bookstore were the highlights I hit this time. I ended the weekend with a trip to Snoqualmie Snow Resort. It was the first time I had skied in 9 years, but I picked up surprisingly fast. I'm nursing a few bruises but nothing serious. Until the next time...

A Break Well Spent...

Dear Friends,

These last 10 days have gone by way too fast, but I guess that just goes to show that it was time well spent. I was with my parents and brothers for the 1st 5 days, and after that I got see most of my friends from high school. I seemed to miss a lot of other people, but I guess that's just the way it goes. I'm currently packing getting ready for my return flight home tomorrow. Apparently I will be welcomed by another snow storm. Oh well, as long as work doesn't get cancelled again due to snow and ice, then I think my platoon's training will be able to start up again okay. Overall I feel recharged and ready to get back to Washington. It will be good to be around the Nav guys and my roommates again. I think it's gonna be a good next couple of months for me. Anyway, I will write again soon when more needs to be written. Bye!
