Dear Friends,
It has been hot here in Washington for the past few days (temps in the 90s when normal temps this time of year are in the 60s). However, in just 4 days I'll be in Louisiana where the high temperatures mix with humidity, bugs, and challenging weather. Despite the weather forecast, though, I'm looking forward to training with the platoon. We have some new faces since the last time we did full scale platoon training. I think we'll learn a lot to prepare us for our upcoming vacation overseas. The heat will actually serve as a good test.
Anyway, I unfortunately do have extra staff duty twice this week which kinda eats up the last of my free time right before we leave. I'm using it to catch up on some reading and other stuff that I've put off here at work. Again, I hate to leave the guys here at Lewis right when the Bible Study is exploding, but God's timing is perfect I've found. I would like prayer for my platoon to perform well, for me to remain positive, and for me to find opportunities to speak about Jesus. I find that time away from the normal often is the true test of your character. I'll be busy, but I don't want to neglect the most important thing...namely J.C. This will be my last message until July so good-bye until then!
