Dear Friends,
The weather here is starting to warm up. In reality it's basically like a mild, MidWest summer day right now...lower 90's with the sun blazing. It's starting to get pretty humid too. I think it's going to start getting really bad right around the time I'm leaving. We'll see. In other news...things are going well with the new Commander now fully in position. Operations are relatively light, and a lot of things are still in the planning process right now. This basically means that I don't have nearly as much to do as I've been used to for the past few months. It's a good thing (needed break) and a bad thing (lack of tasks makes time move slower) at the same time. I am trying to take advantage of the new pace though.
My mid-tour leave is quickly approaching. There are some loose ends to tie up before I leave, but the break is definitely in sight. My goal is to "sprint" to the finish...rest always is more enjoyable after a long period of hard work. Thank you all again for your continued support. By the way...if you didn't catch it in the news, then you should know that a new head-honcho was elected last week for IRock. Some have already asked me what this means as though I am an expert. All I do is laugh and remind them, "How should I know...I'm not a doctor."
