Germany...Wait, Did I Not Tell You That Yet?

Dear Friends,

Do you know how sometimes you feel like you've told everyone already that you're going to someplace for a month...say Germany...but you actually forgot to tell your own mother until 2 weeks afterwards? Well, that happened. Despite all the craziness of finishing my job here, planning a wedding, and getting ready to spend the rest of my life with my incredibly beautiful and kind fiance Kate, God has it in His plans to send me to Germany for a month. I guess He wants to give me a little taste of Europe before going down to the good, old South this summer. Anyway, I'm bummed that I'll be separated from Kate once again (as if 12 months wasn't enough), but both Kate and I are going to make the best of it. I'm going to learn the entire German language, visit Germany's famous "Eagle's Nest", and prepare the entire United States Army for its next great venture. Kate also will have her hands full. She is going to start running Mars Hill Church in Seattle (Yeah, the whole church), start a small, multi-state craft business focusing on stationary and wedding invites, and hike Mount Rainier (and possibly Mount Everest later in April). Well, we may not do all of that stuff, but we will be married by May 14th...which in our eyes in just as awesome! We both would appreciate your continued prayers.

Below are some ways that you can pray for us before our upcoming wedding:
(1) Wise use of our time during our final months in Washington...valuing our great friendships out here and preparing for our next phase.
(2) God would continue to grow our hearts closer together as we prepare to begin our new life together.
(3) Look to Jesus for strength and peace rather than anxious thoughts (Amazing how a wedding, a beautiful and wonderful day, can raise anxiety levels huh?)

So yeah...thank you again for checking out this blog. Until the next time!
